These Vaughn Epic 8606 Limited Edition Senior Goalie Leg Pads are designed to provide goaltenders with a lighter pad for a quicker response to shots. They are constructed for maximum rebound control and are an excellent choice for positionally sound goaltenders who occasionally find themselves in a scramble. The front surface of this leg pad is flat to provide the maximum blocking surface area. These pads are perfect for goaltenders looking for a high quality leg pad at a lower price.
From the manufacturer:
The 8606 Epic goal pad features flat front design with internal layering of a softer foam behind the front surface to reduce rebounding and to provide added puck control. The Epic design features a narrower side profile design and construction. A knee hugger pre curved upper section that keeps the pad positioned closer to the knees for added control and functions to position the top thigh area of the pad to reduce openings in the five-hole area while going down to the ice. Standard iceberg graphics constructed with an exterior Clarino micro fiber synthetic for increased durability and superior performance. Large square shaped outside roll prevents puck skip over and the square frontal shape increased the overall blocking surface to give maximum net coverage. Vaughn Leg Pads Sizing Chart
Estimating the size of your Vaughn hockey goalie leg pads requires three simple measurements. The most important aspect of sizing goalie leg pads is to ensure that your knee fits properly in the knee protector.
-
While standing on a level surface (carpet or hardwood floor will work just fine), measure from the floor to the mid-point of the kneecap.
This measurement is ________" (A) -
Next, measure from your kneecap to the desired height on your thigh. The desired position on your thigh is generally ¾ of the way up from your knee to your belt line.
This measurement is ________" (B) -
Finally, take your skate size and multiply it by .75.
This measurement is ________" x 0.75 = ________" (C) -
To estimate the size of your pads, take these measurements and add them together.
This measurement is A + B + C = ________. This is the estimated size of your pads. This is not an exact measurement, but rather, a good starting point. There is no substitution for being fitted by a trained goalie professional.
